So, you can read a section or just click on the link and watch the video about it. I really like the way the link to the video is right in the related section and clicking on it takes you right to that section in the overall video. Tony’s speaking/writing style is conversational and, with the video parts, you just feel like you are sitting in the room with him while he explains things with hands on examples.

The written sections about everything are clear, concise and you know how to use that part of LR when you’ve finished each section. It was great and also helped with getting a bit better with LR though I wasn’t exactly crazy about the writing style of that one.Ī while later, and mostly out of curiosity, I also decided to get Tony’s LR book, the predecessor to this one, and WOW, what a difference! Such a unique approach and delivery.

But I wanted to go further as my photography was going further so I bought one of the popular books for LR 5.

I watched a lot of videos and read a lot of free stuff about it to start and that did help a lot. I have only been using LR now for about 3 years now, having started with 4. I’m semi-retired and, though always interested in photography, I wanted to go further now that I have more time and so I checked out Lightroom (LR). There are several reasons why and let me explain why it is, at least to me. There are a lot of ebooks and hardcover books out there about Lightroom. If you want to know everything about Lightroom, watch the videos and read the book from start-to-finish. If you want to know more about a specific feature, switch to that video or flip to that chapter in the ebook. If you just want a quick start, you can simply watch the first video or read the first chapter and you’ll be organizing and editing your pictures in less than an hour. Tony covers every aspect of Lightroom in-depth, but structures his teaching so that both beginner and advanced photographers can learn as efficiently as possible. You also get over 150 Lightroom presets, which usually cost more than $100, and access to our private Lightroom group on Facebook so you can ask questions and get feedback. Similar books cost over twice this amount. Similar video training costs well over $120 or more, or worse, requires you to pay a monthly membership fee that might cost you thousands. When you’d rather learn away from your PC, or you just want to quickly look something up, search the eBook or flip through the paperback book to find the information you need.

When you can set aside the time, start the videos on a smartphone, tablet, or PC, and work alongside Tony & Chelsea in Lightroom. When purchasing a print, you can expect great attention to detail, top sharpness and a print that looks just as vivid as you see it on the website. The paperback includes INSTANT access to the Lightroom Classic video ebook and online videos for free! Combining the benefits of video training and book learning, Tony Northrup’s Lightroom Classic Video Book gives you over 14 hours of video and 250 pages of written content. You can purchase high quality prints of my very best photos from my website.
